Copper, brass and silver jewellery is frustrating to keep polished, plus copper jewellery can make skin darken or discolour. ProtectaClear is a clear, protective coating that is easy to apply but is tough enough to protect jewellery and is safe for wear against skin. It is easy to apply, dries quickly, and the residual smell is gone in about 30 minutes.

ProtectaClear will prevent tarnish, oxidation and wear, and does not detract from the intricate detail of the metal. It can be used to protect jewellery that has patina from Liver of Sulfer and other patina's, or even flamed copper.

Is ProtectaClear safe on jewellery worn on skin? Yes, ProtectaClear is safe on skin and is even food safe once it is cured. ProtectaClear can take up to 4 days to cure or it can be speed cured by putting metal that has been coated and dried to touch in a low temperature oven (180degrees F or less) for at least an hour.

Can ProtectaClear be used on filigree jewellery? Yes, you can apply the coating by dipping or spraying on filigree jewelry. If the filigree is very tight, you can just blow it gently to break the surface tension of the coating so it adheres to the metal.  

ProtectaClear will seal and protect metal from tarnish, oxidation, corrosion, salt air and other damaging elements. It is easy to apply and self-levelling. ProtectaClear is not a lacquer or a thick plastic coating which can detract from the beauty of the metal. It is very natural looking and will make metal look like it is just polished.

Please note, jewellery/metals cleaned with acid-based metal cleaners must be neutralized prior to sealing with ProtectaClear.
